Anna Ranch Heritage Center |
|
|
The Anna Ranch Heritage Center, a National Historic Site, was in the same ranching family for five generations. It is still a working ranch, and shares the story of a remarkable woman in ranching, Anna Lindsey Perry-Fiske, who was known as "The First Lady of Ranching" in Hawaii. The ranch was founded by Anna's great, great grandfather James Fay who was a contemporary of John Palmer Parker, the founder of Parker Ranch. The ranch house has been maintained and restored for its historic character and contains a significant archive collection of records, photographs, maps, artifacts, and household items that tell a story of Waimea's past, and the rich history of ranching on Hawaii island. |
